Friday the 13th

Today is Friday the 13th, but what a wonderful day it has been. We had a great meeting last night, with a full house. There were 18 ladies in attendance and of the 18, seven were new guests who had attended the 2012 Knitapalooza.

A great big thanks goes out to Patti Stapleton for a fun, informative and educational program. We all learned to knit with silk hankies. The whole group jumped in with all 4s and tackled this technique with gusto.

Our next meeting is going to be on May 10 and it will be at Mimi's Cafe in Grapevine (right infront of Target). We'll meet at 6:30 with dinner at 7:00 p.m. It will be fun evening with a bunch of surprises, so I hope to see everyone there.

The Bluebonnet Guild has had a great fall! Nancy Tully presented Knit One Below for the October and November meetings . Nancy did a fabulous job and we all learned so very much! Thank you Nancy for being part of making our October and November meetings so successful.

I am looking forward to our upcoming events. In December our biggest event will be the drawing for the Great American Afghan that the members knitted. Sales of the Door Prize tickets have been very successful and I am sure we will be able to purchase something very nice for the LaDora Nursing and Rehab Home in Bedford, TX.

Details of the December 8 meeting are as follows:

The December meeting will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2011, at Mimi's Cafe, 1101 Ira E. Woods, Grapevine, TX.

Our celebration of the holiday includes a small gift exchange game, please bring a $10 gift related to knitting for the exchange, the drawing for the Great American Aran Afghan will be part of the festivities.

If you have extra time and yarn a gift of hand knitted slippers, laprobe, hat or scarf for the LaDora Nursing Home in Bedford would be appreciated. You will get a ticket in the monthly door prize drawing for each item you donate.

I hope to see everyone on December 8. I wish everyone a happy, healthy and safe holiday season!
