Knitapalooza 2015

This is a reminder to be sure to register for Knitapalooza 2015.
The dates and times are as follows:

Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 10:00am to 4:00pm at Brookside Convention Center.

 

Admission is $25. This includes lunch, a goodie bag, prize drawings, contests, surprises and more.

 

Additionally, this year if you would like to purchase a Bluebonnet Guild canvas tote, we are offering them for $15. Order before March 7 and we'll have your tote at the event.

 

This year there are several ways to pay:

Give your registration form and check to a guild member.

or

Pay now with a credit card for registration only - $25

Pay now with a credit card for registration and a tote bag - $40

Warm Up America

 

This year we are highlighting the work of Warm Up America as one of our community project charities.  If you would like to donate or participate it would be appreciated.

Warm Up America! is a charity centered around the idea of bringing warmth to the lives of others. The organization was founded in 1991 in a small Wisconsin town. Creative founder Evie Rosen came up with the idea of knitting or crocheting small sections and weaving them together to make blankets for those in need.

That same philosophy is what drives the organization today. Warm Up America! Distributes afghans, caps, and other items to tens of thousands of people. Knitters and crocheters around the country create their sections, gather in groups, and join their pieces together to create finished blankets.

Current Needs:  We have several organizations that need full-size child (54” x 42”) and adult (63” x 49”) afghans. Also, we have an ongoing donation need of baby blankets (40” x 40”)for Parkland hospital in Dallas, TX. Please send your donations to our home office address listed below.   The squares should be a finished size of 7” x 9”.  More information can be found on the WarmUpAmerica.org website.

We invite you to donate a square or afghan to Warm Up America or donate a child’s hat, mittens, or scarf for the Grapevine Police Community Outreach. 

For every item that is donated your name will go into a special raffle for a fun prize.  Example:  1 Square, 1 Ticket; 2 Squares, 2 Tickets, etc.
